The National Economic Council (NEC) of Somalia is planning to conduct its 5th National Economic Policy Forum on the Growth and Economic Transformation Strategy (GETS) for Somalia in Mogadishu on the 20th and 21st of June, 2022. The NEC advisors and independent sector experts will present ten (10) studies under the GETS for discussion by senior policy makers and government officials, academics and field experts, and representatives of the civil society, private sector and development partners.
The GETS studies are centered around three the pillars of “the foundation for economic growth; meeting the socio-economic challenges of food insecurity and climate change, and natural resources and blue economy development”.
The Policy Forum will also include plenary sessions and panel discussions to formulate and validate specific findings and recommendations for the consideration and implementation of relevant stakeholders.
